Portrait of Stafford Lannister

Stafford Lannister

Born
245 AC
Died
299 AC

Younger brother of Lady Joanna Lannister and uncle by blood and good-brother by marriage to Lord Tywin, whose wife was his own sister and whose lordship had given his career its shape. He was a portly, slow-witted, and conventional knight who never won great honor in the field, but Tywin found use for him as a lieutenant and a steady kinsman at the Rock. With his wife Lady Myranda of House Lefford he had three children: Ser Daven, Cerenna, and Myrielle. After Tywin marched east in 298 AC to defend King's Landing against Stannis Baratheon, Stafford remained behind to muster a second host in the westerlands at Oxcross; that camp was caught and broken in a night attack by Lord Robb Stark in 299 AC, and Stafford was killed in the rout.
