Ser Osmund Strong served as Hand of the King to Aegon I Targaryen and oversaw the raising of the great wall that still encloses King's Landing. Father of Ser Lucamore "the Lusty" and Lord Bywin Strong of Harrenhal, he is the eldest Strong recorded in canon, and the line of the house's later lords traces back to his name.
