Mellario of Norvos

Norvoshi noblewoman whom Prince Doran took to wife in his youth and brought home to Sunspear, where she gave him a daughter and two sons. She never understood the Dornish, and the Dornish never warmed to her: she could not abide the custom of sending a seven-year-old Quentyn off to be fostered at Yronwood, and when at last she could bear no more of it she went home across the Narrow Sea and left her children to their father. She lives still in Norvos in a great house above the Noyne, and writes to her daughter when the wind from the south carries the letters that far.
