Ruling Princess of Dorne in the years before the death of Aerys II, mother of Doran, Elia, and Oberyn. It was she who took her younger children with her to Casterly Rock when Elia was a girl and Oberyn a boy of eight, seeking a Lannister match her hosts would not give and finding instead the cool insult that would set her son the Red Viper against the lions for life. She died at Sunspear and left the rod of rule to her eldest son, Doran.
