Elder son of a knightly house sworn to Casterly Rock and elder brother of Sandor. Seven and a half feet of armoured malice, called the Mountain That Rides, accused over the years of murdering his own father, his sister, his first two wives, and a great many besides. He rode in the Sack of King's Landing under Tywin Lannister's banner and butchered Princess Elia Martell and her children in her bed, then served Tywin's wars thereafter as the sharpest of his blunt instruments. He died at last in the trial-pit at Maegor's Holdfast, killed by Oberyn Martell's poisoned spear in the very moment of crushing the Red Viper's skull.
