Emmon Frey

Second son of Lord Walder Frey by Perra Royce, wed at fourteen to Genna Lannister, the formidable sister of Lord Tytos's heir, in a match that bound the Twins to Casterly Rock long before the Trident ran red. A small man, thin and nervous and mostly bald, with a prominent apple bobbing in his throat, he lived in his wife's considerable shadow and bore her four sons: Ser Cleos, Lyonel, Tion, and Red Walder. After the Red Wedding, Lord Tywin Lannister stripped Riverrun from the attainted Tullys and bestowed it upon Emmon and Genna, founding the cadet branch known as House Frey of Riverrun and seating a henpecked Frey knight in Hoster Tully's hall. He took possession only after the second siege, fretting at his nephew Ser Ryman's slack camp and at Ser Jaime Lannister's parley with Edmure, and clutching the parchment of his grant as though it might be torn from his fingers. When the Blackfish slipped the noose by swimming out beneath the Tumblestone, Emmon railed at Jaime to find him, fearing poisoned wells and a castle full of servants who would never love a Frey lord.
