A knight of the red-apple Fossoways of Cider Hall in the War of the Five Kings, who answered Renly Baratheon's banners at Bitterbridge with his cousin Ser Bryan and the rest of the Reach host. When King Renly fell to a shadow in his pavilion at Storm's End, Edwyd turned his sword to Stannis Baratheon's cause along with much of the red-apple line; he fell upon the Blackwater amid the same press where Lothor Brune of Stannis's own household ploughed a furrow through the green-and-gold Fossoway ranks, slaying Edwyd and Bryan Fossoway and a half hundred others to earn his apple-eating byname.
