Titles
  • Princess
  • Rider of Meleys

Third daughter of King Jaehaerys I and Queen Alysanne Targaryen, born in 60 AC and a creature wild from the cradle — far more at home in breeches and boy's wool than in any of her mother's silks, climbing where no princess ought to climb and hunting where no princess ought to hunt. She doted in her girlhood upon her elder brother Baelon as her sister Maegelle would later dote upon her, claimed the red she-dragon Meleys in the dragonpit while she was yet a girl and rode her thereafter as freely as any man of her house rode his charger, and emptied a flagon of Arbor gold over her bookish brother Vaegon's head when he insulted Princess Daella in the great hall. She was wed in time to her brother Prince Baelon, whose first betrothed had been their sister Aemma and who had wept his way through her funeral, and she gave him three sons in their time together: Viserys, Daemon, and lastly Aegon — but the last birth tore her open, and she died in her birthing bed of those wounds before the year was out of 87 AC. Princess Saera had run off two years before her death; Princess Daella had died bringing Aemma into the world two years before that; Princess Viserra was newly buried; and her mother the queen never wholly recovered from the closeness of so many small graves.
