Portrait of Alynne Connington

Alynne Connington

Born

A daughter of Lord Ronald Connington of Griffin's Roost and younger sister to Ser Ronnet Red Ronnet, who was sent out from the keep with the king's host to fight Lord Tywin's war in the riverlands and left his sister and his bastard nephew Ronald Storm behind beneath their cousin Raymund's keeping. She was at the Roost with the other children that night out of A Dance with Dragons when her great-uncle Lord Jon Connington and the host of the Golden Company came up the cliffside in the dark, took the gate before the guards could rouse, and stood his own banner upon the parapet by morning. Jon set her with the other young Conningtons under guard in the west tower of the keep against any ransom her brother might raise, and that night had them up to his victory feast in the great hall — no harm would come to any of them, he told her, unless Red Ronnet should prove a fool — until small Ronald Storm spoke up that his father would have them all killed, and the children were sent back to the cells.
