Alannys Harlaw (Lanny)

Sister to Lord Rodrik Harlaw of Ten Towers, the most learned lord in the Iron Islands, who called her Lanny when they were children together on Harlaw. She was wed to Balon Greyjoy and bore him four children (Rodrik, Maron, Asha, and Theon), and saw two of them killed in his first rebellion and a third hauled north as a hostage of the green lands. The grief of it broke her wits. By the time of the War of the Five Kings she had returned to her brother's hall on Harlaw to be tended in her sickness, and the chronicles record no more of her.
